Termite Inspection PDF Print E-mail

Regular termite inspections (at least every month) are very important. This provides you with the best chance of detecting termite activity before any or much damage is done.

The inspections cover the following:

The areas of the building and the interior, exterior, roof space, subfloor space of the building an, the grounds including fences and trees within the property up to a distance of 50 meters from the building are readily accessible.

For inspections, we use the following equipment:

Moisture Meter

  • Moisture meter can be used to reveal elevated moisture content behind walls.
  • The moisture can indicate a plumbing leak, or water from a sprinkler system, or from precipitation from a roof leak
  • These all contribute to conditions conducive to infestation by termites, because subterranean termites can use the moisture for survival
  • In these instances, an opening may need to be made in the wall to determine if the moisture is simply from some leak, or from an actual termite infestation
  • And because there can be other reasons for high moisture readings besides termites, Moisture meter can be used as a guide to detect areas which require further inspection with Termatrac.

Termatrac

Termatrac is the latest non-invasive, non-destructive termite and other insect pest detection/tracking technology. With no drilling, tapping or prodding, Termatrac is the answer to detecting termites through wall voids, cracks, crevices, air pockets, construction flaws, etc where the human eye cannot see without interference to the building material or termite activity.

Termatrac emits signals which penetrate the material that is being searched. If these signals are interrupted by termite activity, the liquid crystal display will alert you to this activity. Termatrac relays this information to the operator so that they can pinpoint the termites in an instant. Then you can:

  • track the extent of their activity without disturbances
  • track termites to entry point
  • locate nests via entry point
  • determine the most suitable treatment procedures

By clearly defining where the insect activity is present, the termite treatment phase will be greatly enhanced by proper placement of in-ground or above-ground bait stations.

Thermal Imaging Camera

Thermal imaging camera is used to scan and take photos of walls to pick up abnormal heat and moisture in the wall frames to indicate pest infestation. The termite activity that the camera picks up would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye, unless the wall or flooring was removed. Termites enjoy warmer temperatures, and a group of termites gives off a large amount of radiated heat and moisture which is detectable on wall surfaces using the thermal cameras.

Temperature differences give off different variances. The cameras have technology to see the different variances in surface temperature, therefore able to detect hot areas where the termites thrive in. Different variances are shown in the photos through different colours. In the photos, the hot regions are shown as yellow or red, while cold areas are depicted by purple and blue tones. This makes spotting infested areas easy. With the aid of the thermal camera, technicians can now quickly locate the areas in the home that are infested. Some benefits of thermal imaging camera include:

  • Assisting in carrying out non-invasive inspections
  • Helps determine an accurate treatment procedure
  • Allows you to view inaccessible areas
  • Save on time and money by determining the exact location of the infestation
  • Offers a more detailed inspection analysis
  • Minimizes risk of missing any hidden problems

Termite Identification

The threat of insects in or around your home can be alarming, especially when those insects can cause structural damage. It is important to know if insects you find around the house are in fact termites or some other crawling insect.

Early detection and treatment of termites can drastically reduce the threat of damage to your home.

Look for signs of infestation such as:

 Swarmers  Wings

Damaged or hollow sounding wood   Mud tubes

Small piles of sawdust   Termite mounds

 Live termites

TERMITE CONTROL SOLUTIONS

TERMITE SOIL BARRIER TREATMENT

AGENDA 2.5 EC

AGENDAAgenda’s (formerly Termidor) unique mode of action combines structural protection and colony management. It uses a new molecule called Fipronil, which is extremely active even at low doses. Agenda is made from a revolutionary non-repellent or undetectable chemical technology treatment. This means termites cannot see, smell, taste or avoid Agenda. Instead they contact, ingest, and share it with their nestmates. This amazing feature of Agenda makes it the Number 1 termite defense product in the world today.

Agenda is a termiticide that has been tested in Asia and around the world. Due to the tropical conditions and high intensity of termites often encountered in Asia, these trials represent the toughest test for any termiticide. No other termiticide in recent history has demonstrated such complete effectiveness at such a range of sites as Bayer's AGENDA.

Advantages:

  • Comes with long lasting structural protection
    - pre-construction service warranty - 5 years, post -construction – 3 years
  • Has termite colony management capability
  • Fast termite eradication approach
  • Environment-friendly, no odour
  • Complete chemical barrier action that assures no void for termites to infest structures
  • The most superior and effective chemical here and abroad
  • Utilise only less than 2 dozens recommended PCO to ensure quality termite control protection

PREMISE 200 SC

PREMISE 200SCPremise is an innovative termiticide that provides a complete treated zone around your house against intruding termites - a feature we call Lateral Soil Movement. Premise is a non-repellent termiticide. When Premise is applied to the soil, a treated zone is created. Premise 2OOSC is a systemic insecticide which acts as a contact and stomach poison. When termites come in contact with this non-repellent termiticde in the treated zone, it affects the termites ability to withstand infection by preventing their natural grooming behavior and die of fungal infection from soil.

Advantages

  • Provides a highly effective Treated Zone
  • Spreads well in soil (lateral spread)
  • Unique double action (Premise+Nature)
  • Produces no measurable airborne residues
  • No odour
  • Provides long term protection of the structure
